Abstract

ABSTRACT: The study aimed to analyze the relationship between the presence of P.intermedia and P.gingivalis and the increased severity of gingivitis. The results are consistent with previous studies that demonstrated the multiplicity of periodontal pathogens and their varying prevalence according to geographical, genetic, and environmental criteria, confirming that the use of molecular analysis techniques such as polymerase chain reaction provides high accuracy in detecting disease-causing bacteria and contributes to a deeper understanding of how the presence of these microbes is associated with the clinical development of gingivitis and periodontitis.
